RALEIGH, N.C. – The United States Drug Enforcement Administration Special Agent in Charge for the Atlanta Field Division, Robert Murphy, announced that Chief United States District Judge Terrence W. Boyle sentenced Talih Rik Anthony Reeves, 36, of Wilmington, N.C., to 190 months imprisonment, followed by 48 months of supervised release.

Reeves was charged in a 10-count Indictment that was issued by the grand jury for the Eastern District of North Carolina on February 22, 2018. The indictment charged him with multiple drug trafficking counts relating to the distribution of heroin, powder cocaine, and cocaine base crack. All of the charged crimes took place in Wilmington, N.C.

In early 2017, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and Wilmington Police Department conducted multiple controlled purchases of cocaine and cocaine base crack from Reeves and individuals who worked with Reeves. After these controlled purchases and many hours of surveillance, law enforcement took down the Reeves organization on May 25, 2017. In the take down, law enforcement made multiple arrests at two residences and recovered significant quantities of heroin, cocaine, firearms and cash. Reeves was arrested at a Wilmington motel, where agents recovered over 14,000 bundles of heroin, nearly 700 grams of cocaine, and $19,500.00 in U.S. currency.

This case was brought by the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina, Robert J. Higdon, Jr., through partnership with the DEA and the Wilmington Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Brad Knott.
