Floridian Fuzz Guilty Of Hauling Cocaine Through East Texas
BEAUMONT, TX - A 51-year-old Spring Hill, Florida man has pleaded guilty to federal drug trafficking in the Eastern District of Texas announced Drug Enforcement (DEA) Acting Special Agent in Charge, Thomas Hinojosa and U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.
Tony Darrell Fuzz pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute more than five kilograms of cocaine today before U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.
According to information presented in court, on Jan. 31, 2011, Fuzz was stopped by Jefferson County Sheriff's Office deputies while driving a tractor-trailer east-bound on IH-10. A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of ten kilograms of powder cocaine concealed in a duffel bag. Fuzz was indicted by a federal grand jury on Feb. 9, 2011.
Fuzz faces a minimum of 10 years in federal prison and up to Life at sentencing. A sentencing date has not been set.
This case is being investigated by the DEA, Jefferson County Sheriff's Office and Homeland Security Investigations ICE/HSI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Joe Batte.
