Special Agent in Charge Louisville Field Division

Jim Scott is a 25-year veteran of the Drug Enforcement Administration.  He currently serves as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Louisville Field Division, overseeing all DEA activity throughout Kentucky, Tennessee, and West Virginia.  Prior to his current assignment, SAC Scott served as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge in the Louisville Division Office, overseeing the Tactical Diversion, Financial Investigations, Technical Operations, and Special Support Units, along with enforcement groups in Lexington and London, Kentucky.

In 2023, SAC Scott served as the Executive Assistant in the Inspections Division at DEA Headquarters, where he worked alongside the Chief Inspector to provide oversight of DEA’s disciplinary, inspection, and security programs.  From 2019 to 2022, SAC Scott served as the Country Attaché in the Vienna, Austria Country Office, representing DEA’s interests in Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, and Slovenia.  From 2015 to 2019, SAC Scott served as the Resident Agent in Charge in the Louisville office, directing all enforcement activity and administrative programs for the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force.

SAC Scott’s career has also included assignments in DEA’s Special Operations Division / Bilateral Investigations Unit, The Hague, Netherlands Country Office, the Atlanta Field Division and the Denver Field Division.  SAC Scott is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and is a graduate of the University of Kentucky.  He and his wife Brandy have two grown children, Katelyn and Lauren.
