The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will be hosting two regional one-day Practitioner Diversion Awareness Conferences (PDAC) on Monday, November 4, and Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The same conference will be held both days. Participants can attend either day. The conferences will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, Columbia, Missouri 65202.
The diversion of pharmaceutical controlled substances throughout the United States is a growing problem. This diversion stems from various sources. In addition to pharmacy robberies and thefts, pharmaceutical controlled substances are often diverted by way of forged prescriptions, doctor shoppers, or illegitimate prescriptions from rogue practitioners. The PDAC is designed to assist DEA registered Practitioners (e.g. doctors, veterinarians, dentists, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners) in identifying and preventing diversion activity.
There is no registration fee for these conferences. However, attendees will be responsible for their own transportation, lodging, and meal expenses. Information about nearby restaurants will be provided at the conference.
If you wish to reserve a room at the hotel, you can call the hotel directly at (573) 814-5464.
The closet airport is the Columbia Regional Airport (COU), which is 13 miles from the hotel. The hotel does not offer transportation. Alternate options: Uber/Lyft, and/or Taxi is also available. Self-parking is available every day. Valet parking is not available.
Each one-day conference will be held in the Grand Ballroom, located in the Garden Conference Center (adjacent to the hotel), from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. You must check in with DEA personnel before the start of the conference. Conference check-in will be from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. each day outside of the ballroom.
NOTE: You must be a DEA registered Practitioner (e.g. doctor, veterinarian, dentist, physician assistant, and/or nurse practitioner) in the state of Missouri in order to attend this conference.
