Bob P. Beris
Bob P. Beris serves as the Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) San Francisco Field Division. In this role, he oversees all enforcement operations, diversion control and regulatory investigations, and administrative functions throughout 49 of California's 58 counties, covering a geographic area that extends from Bakersfield to the Oregon border.
A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Beris graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago and began his professional career as a Forensic Scientist with the Illinois State Police. In 2004, he joined the DEA and was assigned to the Bakersfield Resident Office within the San Francisco Field Division. There, he focused on complex conspiracy investigations and the dismantlement of drug trafficking organizations operating both domestically and internationally.
In 2014, Mr. Beris was promoted to Group Supervisor, where he established and led the first DEA Task Force Group in Bakersfield, California. Two years later, he became the Resident Agent in Charge of the Bakersfield Resident Office, overseeing all DEA operations in Kern and Inyo Counties.
In 2019, Mr. Beris was selected to serve as an Inspector with the DEA's Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR) at DEA Headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. In this capacity, he investigated allegations of employee misconduct. He later transferred to the OPR Western Field Office in Los Angeles, California, where he managed internal investigations throughout the western United States, as well as the Middle East and Asia-Pacific regions.
In June 2021, Mr. Beris was appointed Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Sacramento District Office within the San Francisco Field Division. In that role, he oversaw all enforcement operations across 27 California counties and supervised DEA offices in Sacramento and Stockton. He served in this position until his appointment as Special Agent in Charge of the DEA San Francisco Field Division.
