Cocaine Discovered in Vehicle’s Aftermarket Vehicle Trap
Griffin, GA.- During an enforcement operation on August 5, 2025, agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Atlanta Division and the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) seized 10 kilograms of cocaine. The seizure came after a SCSO Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota 4Runner. During the traffic stop, the deputy located an after-market concealed trap containing the cocaine. One individual who crossed into the U.S. illegally was arrested on drug trafficking charges.
“DEA’s mission remains the same, seize dangerous drugs before they reach our communities, and bring to justice those criminals responsible,” said Jae W. Chung, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Division. “DEA will continue to aggressively pursue criminals that are harming our communities with dangerous drugs.”
Sheriff Darrell Dix stated, “This operation demonstrates how partnerships between the DEA and local agencies like the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office are vital to stopping drug traffickers. We pride ourselves in our ability to maximize the resources available to us through multi-agency cooperation whether the investigation starts here locally, or anywhere else and eventually leads here.”
