Three Onondaga County Residents Indicted for Conspiring to Distribute Meth and Fentanyl
SYRACUSE, NEW YORK – Devon Drake, 33, Lacey Fontaine, 33, and Henry Townsend, 28, each of Syracuse, New York, have been indicted and charged with distributing and conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl. Drake is also charged with distributing methamphetamine and fentanyl within 1,000 feet of an elementary school.
United States Attorney Carla B. Freedman and Frank A. Tarentino III, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration New York Division, made the announcement.
The charges filed against Drake, Fontaine, and Townsend carry a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life, a fine of up to $10,000,000, and a term of supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life. A defendant’s sentence is imposed by a judge based on the particular statute the defendant is charged with violating, the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other factors.
The charges in the indictment are merely accusations. The defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
DEA is investigating the case with assistance from the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Metro-Jefferson Drug Task Force, the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, and the Syracuse Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica Carbone and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul Tuck are prosecuting the case.
