DEA Announces 37,492 Pounds of Prescription Drugs Collected During Take-Back Event
PHILADELPHIA –Special Agent in Charge (SAC) Thomas Hodnett of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s (DEA) Philadelphia Field Division announced today that approximately 37,492 pounds of prescription drugs were collected across Pennsylvania and Delaware by the DEA and its partners during the Prescription Drug Take-Back Day event on April 30, 2022.
A specific breakdown of amounts collected by regions across Pennsylvania, where a total of 32,835 pounds was collected, and Delaware, where a total of 4,645 pounds was collected, is listed below:
Allentown, PA: 1,312 lbs.
Dover, DE: 2,480 lbs.
Harrisburg, PA: 3,525 lbs.
Philadelphia, PA: 19,168 lbs.
Pittsburgh, PA: 8,084 lbs.
Scranton, PA: 747 lbs.
Wilmington, DE: 2,165 lbs.
Amounts collected by the counties across the Philadelphia region, which are totaled above, are listed as follows:
Bucks County: 10,890 lbs.
Chester County: 806 lbs.
Delaware County: 351 lbs.
Montgomery County: 5,192 lbs.
Philadelphia County: 1,929 lbs.
