Heroin And Fentanyl Distributor Sentenced In Buffalo

BROOKLYN, N.Y. - U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. and James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge, U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA), New York Division, announced that Francis Tessina, 45, of Buffalo, NY, who was convicted of possession with intent to distribute heroin and fentanyl, was sentenced to 48 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Laura A. Higgins, who handled the case, stated that on March 9, 2015, the defendant sold heroin and fentanyl to an individual cooperating with law enforcement. The following day, as Tessina was again preparing to sell heroin and fentanyl to the same person, he was arrested.

The sentencing is the culmination of an investigation on the part of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New York Division, the Hamburg Police Department, and the Evans Police Department.
