Northern Michigan Residents Charged In Drug Trafficking Conspiracy

BAY CITY, Mich. - Four residents of northern Michigan have been charged with participating in a drug trafficking organization, U.S. Attorney Barbara L. McQuade announced today. A ten-count indictment was returned by a federal grand jury in Bay City on Wednesday, charging four individuals with conspiracy to distribute cocaine, crack and heroin along with related charges.
Named in the indictment were:
Tradvis Demarr Williams, 33, Cheboygan,
Paul Allen Anderson, 31, Cheboygan
Rachel Lee Winslow, 29, Cheboygan, and
Kimberly Ann Turcott, 26, Charlevoix.
The charges follow an investigation conducted during the past several months by the Michigan State Police Straits Area Narcotics ("MSP SANE") team and the U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA). On Thursday, the MSP SANE team executed arrest warrants and search warrants at several locations.
Members of the conspiracy are alleged to have transported or arranged for the transportation of kilogram quantities of cocaine, crack and heroin from Detroit to the Cheboygan County area over the course of the conspiracy, where they delivered the drugs to other distributors and users in northern Michigan. Members of the conspiracy are also charged with wiring drug proceeds to individuals in Detroit for the purchase of additional drugs.
The case is being prosecuted by the Bay City branch of the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan.
The charges contained in the indictment are merely allegations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
