Two Men Sentenced After Pleading Guilty To Drug Charges
NEW ORLEANS - James Self, 29, a resident of St. Helena Parish, was sentenced on June 27, 2013 to 70 months imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release by U. S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo after pleading guilty to cocaine and marijuana charges.
Self pled guilty on November 13, 2012, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana, and one count each of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
In a separate case, Tullie Whiten, 28, a resident of Clinton, Louisiana, was sentenced on June 27, 2013 to 53 months’ imprisonment and 3 years of supervised release by U. S. District Judge Jane Triche Milazzo after pleading guilty to cocaine and marijuana charges.
Whiten pled guilty on June 14, 2012, to one count of conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute crack cocaine and marijuana and one count each of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.
The investigations were conducted by special agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. Both cases were prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney André Jones.
