COLUMBIA, SC. - United States Attorney Bill N. Nettles and John S. Comer, Acting Special Agent in (SAC) of the DEA Atlanta Field Division, announced today that Earl Daniels, 31, of Allendale, faces a mandatory-minimum sentence of life in prison as a result of a federal jury’s verdict finding that Daniels participated in a large-scale drug conspiracy. Daniels was the last remaining defendant in a federal indictment of 14 individuals, after the other co-conspirators previously pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute cocaine and crack in and around Allendale, Hampton, and Barnwell.

Evidence presented during the trial showed that Daniels obtained substantial quantities of powder cocaine from a variety of suppliers. Daniels was intercepted on a federal wiretap discussing the availability and price of kilograms of cocaine with one of those long-term suppliers. Daniels and his co-conspirators then converted the powder cocaine into crack cocaine and distributed it through a network of retail crack distributors and trap houses in Allendale. The testimony established that Daniels handled more than 15 kilograms of cocaine, which would have a wholesale cost of approximately half a million dollars.

Daniels joins his co-defendants - Christopher Antonio Davis a/k/a “PT”, 34, Harry Decarter Wright a/k/a “Harry-O”, 35, Marc Anthony Williams a/k/a “Mo”, 27, Reginald Reshea Jenkins a/k/a “Birdman” a/k/a “Bird”, 33, Charles Williams a/k/a “Pete Rock”, 41, Gabriel Mcmillian a/k/a “G-Mack”, 29, Anthony Dave Green, 37, Lashaver Sintel Green a/k/a “Slugger”, 30, Jerome Grant a/k/a “Freaka”, 31, Kennedy Mitchell a/k/a “Big Six”, 46, Venson Tyrone Jones a/k/a “Roanay”, 29, Dominique Lenard Eady a/k/a “Dtheg”, 33, and Marcus Witherspoon, a/k/a “Spoon”, 31, - in awaiting sentencing before United States District Judge Margaret B. Seymour. Because of Daniels’ multiple prior drug felonies and the substantial quantities of cocaine and crack, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of life in prison. His co-conspirators face between five years to life in prison.

This indictment is part of a case that was a joint local, state, and federal investigation involving broad cooperation as part of an ongoing Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force comprised of the Hampton County Sheriff’s Department, the Allendale County Sheriff’s Office, the Barnwell County Sheriff’s Department, the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, the State Law Enforcement Division, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Jay N. Richardson.

DEA AFD’s Acting SAC John S. Comer encourages parents, along with their children, to educate themselves about the dangers of legal and illegal drugs by visiting DEA’s interactive websites at www.justthinktwice.com, www.GetSmartAboutDrugs.com and www.dea.gov.
