Danielson Man Sentenced To More Than Five Years In Federal Prison For Distributing Crack
HARTFORD, CT. - Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and David B. Fein, United States Attorney for the District of Connecticut, today announced that Lyndon Gordon, also known as “Panama,” 41, of Danielson, was sentenced yesterday, July 5, by United States District Judge Robert N. Chatigny in Hartford to 70 months of imprisonment, followed by five years of supervised release, for his role in a southeastern Connecticut drug trafficking organization. Gordon previously pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute five grams or more of cocaine (“crack cocaine”).
This matter stems from a joint law enforcement investigation headed by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in conjunction with the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Connecticut State Police, Norwich Police Department, Groton Town Police Department, New London Police Department, Waterford Police Department, the State of Connecticut’s Department of Correction and Office of Adult Probation. The nine-month investigation included the use of court-authorized wiretaps, controlled purchases of cocaine and crack cocaine, and physical surveillance. The investigation revealed that, in 2009, Lamont Muller and others were involved in the distribution of large amounts of cocaine, crack cocaine, oxycodone and marijuana in southeastern Connecticut.
According to court documents and statements made in court, in September and October 2008, law enforcement officers made controlled purchases of crack cocaine from Gordon. On October 11, 2008, the Connecticut State Police executed a state search warrant at Gordon’s Danielson apartment and seized approximately 48.5 grams of crack cocaine, which was packaged for sale, as well as a digital scale, other packaging materials and cash. During the court-authorized wiretap investigation in the summer of 2009, Muller was intercepted complaining to another individual that an apartment he had obtained for “Panama” in Danielson had been raided by the police.
On September 24, 2010, Lamont Muller, also known as “Dell,” pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, 50 grams or more of cocaine base and a quantity of marijuana and oxycodone. On March 30, 2011, Muller was sentenced to 135 months of imprisonment.
