Matthew W. Allen
Matt brings more than two decades of distinguished service to this critical leadership role. Most recently, he served as the Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Los Angeles Field Division (LAFD), where he led one of DEA’s most complex and high-impact divisions, covering Southern California, Nevada, Hawaii, and the U.S. Territories of Guam and Saipan.
Matt’s career reflects the operational strength and strategic perspective required to lead our enforcement mission during this critical time. He began his DEA career in 2002 and has since held a wide range of field and leadership assignments—including work with the Southern California Drug Task Force, Mobile Enforcement Team, and deployments overseas. As Assistant Regional Director based in Mexico City, he directed DEA operations across Mexico, Central America, and Canada—key theaters in our efforts to dismantle transnational criminal organizations and strengthen coordination with foreign counterparts.
He has led Special Response Teams, served in the Office of Professional Responsibility, and held supervisory roles across multiple offices—experience that has prepared him to drive complex operations with precision, accountability, and focus. From targeting chemical supply chains and financial networks to overseeing enforcement efforts that reduce violence in our cities, Matt’s operational background and leadership acumen are aligned with the challenges we face today.
