DEA Joins the Nation in Celebrating America 250
On behalf of the Drug Enforcement Administration, we join the nation in celebrating the 250th anniversary of American independence. This historic milestone honors the courage, sacrifice, and enduring commitment to liberty that have shaped our country for two and a half centuries.
As we commemorate America 250, we are reminded that every generation has been called to protect our nation and preserve the freedoms that define it. Today, DEA proudly carries that responsibility forward by protecting our communities from the devastating impact of illicit drugs, upholding the rule of law, and safeguarding the security and well-being of the American people.
As we mark this anniversary, we also reaffirm our commitment to prevention and public awareness. Through initiatives such as Fentanyl Free America, One Pill Can Kill, Operation Engage, and other outreach efforts, DEA works alongside families, educators, community organizations, and law enforcement partners to prevent drug overdoses and poisonings, save lives, and strengthen communities across the nation.
At the same time, we remain steadfast in our enforcement mission. DEA investigates, infiltrates, disrupts, and dismantles the criminal organizations that traffic deadly drugs into our communities, including cartels and foreign terrorist organizations that use illicit drug proceeds to fuel violence, corruption, and instability. Together with our federal, state, local, tribal, and international partner we will continue to confront these threats and protect the American people.
As America marks 250 years of independence, we honor those who have served before us and recognize the responsibility we all share to leave a safer, stronger nation for future generations. DEA is proud to serve the American people and contribute to the enduring promise of a free, secure, and resilient United States.
