"For years, Iván Jacobo Idrobo Arredondo, alias ‘Marlon,’ used the cocaine trade to finance terrorism, bombings, and violence across Colombia. Under his leadership, his organization carried out attacks that killed innocent people, devastated communities, and brought fear to entire regions of Colombia.
I commend our Colombian partners for their courage and determination in removing this threat. This operation reflects the strength of the partnership between Colombia and the United States and the results that can be achieved when partners work together against criminal and terrorist organizations.
Those who profit from drugs, violence, and terror should understand one thing: they will be held accountable.”
DEA Administrator Terrance Cole
