Fentanyl and heroin trafficker sentenced to more than 15 years in federal prison
Tampa, Fla. - Roderick Lamar Duval, 39, of Bradenton, was sentenced to 15 years and 8 months in federal prison for distributing fentanyl and heroin. He had pleaded guilty on September 27, 2018.
According to court documents, Duval sold fentanyl and heroin to an undercover detective on multiple occasions. During one of the transactions, Duval sold the fentanyl and heroin to the undercover detective within 1,000 feet of an elementary school in Bradenton.
This case is the result of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation entitled “Hot Batch.” The principal mission of the OCDETF program is to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking and money laundering organizations and those primarily responsible for the nation’s drug supply.
The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration Tampa District Office and the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. It was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Florida.
