CHEYENNE, Wyo. - On April 13, 2018, the Dayton, Ohio Drug Enforcement Administration Office contacted the Cheyenne Resident Office regarding a vehicle traveling through Wyoming from California, suspected of transporting a large quantity of narcotics. DEA's Cheyenne Resident Office, working with state and local counterparts, located the vehicle in Laramie, Wyoming. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and law enforcement located and seized 36 pounds of methamphetamine, 1 kilogram of fentanyl and 1 kilogram of heroin.

Based on the drug seizure in Wyoming, and additional seizures in the multi-jurisdictional investigation of approximately110 pounds of methamphetamine, six kilograms of fentanyl, one kilogram of heroin and more than $130,000 in cash, the DEA and the United States Attorney’s Office in the District of Ohio unsealed a six-count indictment naming seven people in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy investigation. The indictment charges seven people with conspiracy to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine across Ohio.

This case involves a Mexico-based drug trafficking organization and includes a Mexican national and a chemist for the organization, who traveled to Ohio to oversee the operation.

The driver, Salvador Ramirez, aka “Listo”, 23, from West Chester, Ohio and his companion, Tamara McQueen, 21, from Hamilton, Ohio were named in the indictment and are in custody in Ohio. The crime of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine is punishable by up to at least ten years and up to life in prison.
