Great Falls Woman Sentenced to Five Years for Dealing Meth and Heroin
GREAT FALLS, Mont. — A Great Falls woman who admitted to dealing methamphetamine and heroin for a drug trafficking organization based in Mexico was sentenced on Monday to five years in prison, to be followed by five years of supervised release.
Katie Marie Marceau, 38, pleaded guilty in March to possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris presided.
According to court documents, Marceau was identified as a significant drug dealer in Great Falls with direct connections to a drug trafficking ring in Mexico. The organization is known to recruit locals, like Marceau, to distribute their product throughout Great Falls. In an effort to avoid law enforcement detection the recruits are rotated out every few months. Marceau, who began working for the organization in late 2020, was arrested after selling methamphetamine and heroin to undercover officers while on state supervision.
The Drug Enforcement Administration, Great Falls Police Department, Montana Division of Criminal Investigation and Russell Country Drug Task Force conducted the investigation. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jessica A. Betley prosecuted the case.
