PHOENIX - Special Agent in Charge Doug Coleman announced the arrest of Joshua Fassett, a 25-year-old Tempe man taken into custody by DEA agents. Fassett was indicted by a federal grand jury on April 10, 2019.  

The indictment and arrest of Fassett stemmed from a DEA investigation into the overdose death of a 24-year-old man on May 1, 2017. The DEA in Arizona has developed an initiative, as part of its Heroin Enforcement Action Team, to review overdose fatalities in an effort to bring street dealers to face federal charges for supplying drugs resulting in the death of an individual. Fassett was identified through the investigation as the alleged supplier of fentanyl that resulted in the victim’s death. 

Fassett was arrested by federal agents without incident. This investigation was conducted by the DEA’s Phoenix Division and will be prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Arizona.
