Man who sold heroin and fentanyl pleads guilty
BUFFALO, NY –U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr. and Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan, U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, New York Division announced that Marcos Mueses, 26, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty before Chief U.S. District Judge Frank P. Geraci, Jr. to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute heroin, butyryl fentanyl, 4-fluoroisobutyryl fentanyl, and fentanyl. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who is handling the case, stated that between January of 2018 and May of 2018, the defendant and others conspired to distribute amounts of controlled substances. Specifically, on six separate occasions, Mueses and others sold amounts of controlled substances to an individual working with the DEA. Subsequent testing determined the substances contained heroin, butyryl fentanyl, and 4-fluoroisobutyryl fentanyl.
The plea is the result of an investigation by the DEA Buffalo Resident Office.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 20, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. before Judge Geraci.
