BUFFALO, N.Y. – U.S. Attorney James P. Kennedy, Jr., and DEA New York Division Special Agent in Charge Ray Donovan announced that Torri McCray, 40, of Buffalo, pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute, and distribution of, fentanyl, and 10 grams or more of buytryl fentanyl before U.S. District Judge Lawrence J. Vilardo. The charges carry a minimum penalty of five years in prison, a maximum of 40 years, and a fine of $5,000,000.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brendan T. Cullinane, who handed the case, stated that on four dates between June and August of 2017, the defendant distributed controlled substances, including heroin, fentanyl, U-47700, butyryl fentanyl and furanyl fentanyl. On Aug. 16, 2017, the DEA arrested McCray and recovered from the defendant’s pocket an amount of heroin intended for distribution. 

The conviction is the culmination of an investigation on the part of the DEA Buffalo Resident Office.

Sentencing is scheduled for Aug. 22, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Vilardo.
