ALBANY, N.Y. - Preston James, of Brooklyn, New York, was sentenced today to 132 months in prison for distributing crack cocaine on four occasions.

The announcement was made by United States Attorney Grant C. Jaquith; James J. Hunt, Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the U.S. Drug Enforcement (DEA); and Vadim D. Thomas, Special Agent in Charge of the Albany Field Office of the Federal Bureau of (FBI).

James pleaded guilty on June 7, 2017.  He admitted that he sold crack cocaine on April 6, April 9, April 21, and April 29, 2015.  The crack cocaine from the four sales weighed more than 95 grams. 

United States District Judge Mae A. D’Agostino also sentenced James to an 8-year term of supervised release, to begin after James is released from prison.

This case was investigated by the DEA and FBI, and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth R. Rabe.
