Two Sentenced For Roles In Trenton Cocaine Distribution Conspiracy
TRENTON, N.J. - Valerie A. Nickerson, Special Agent-in-Charge of the DEA New Jersey Division, and Craig Carpenito, U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey, announced two Trenton men were both sentenced to over seven years in prison for conspiring to distribute over a kilogram of cocaine and 100 grams of crack cocaine in the Trenton area.
Khalfini Richardson, 33, and Capitol T. Wellons, 32, were sentenced today to 156 and 84 months in prison, respectively. Both defendants previously pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Michael A. Shipp to Count One of an indictment charging them with conspiracy to distribute and possess 500 grams or more of cocaine and to manufacture, distribute, and possess 28 grams or more of cocaine base. Judge Shipp imposed the sentences today in Trenton federal court.
According to the documents filed in this case and statements made in court, from September 2013 through January 13, 2016, Richardson and Wellons conspired with co-defendants Bobby Williams and William Enmond to distribute cocaine and manufacture crack cocaine from two adjacent residences in Trenton. Richardson and Wellons both admitted that they conspired to distribute and possess 1.72 kilograms of cocaine and 122.6 grams of cocaine base.
In addition to the prison term, Judge Shipp sentenced both Richardson and Wellons to five years of supervised release.
Enmond and Williams have also pleaded guilty. Williams awaits sentencing. Enmond was sentenced July 20, 2017 to 60 months in prison.
U.S. Attorney Carpenito credited special agents of the DEA under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Valerie Nickerson in Newark, with the investigation leading to today’s sentencing.
