Cocaine And Heroin Trafficker Sentenced To 23 Years In Prison
RICHMOND, Va. - Wilfred Houston Blair, 37, of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and formerly of Richmond, Virginia, was sentenced today to 276 months in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute over 5 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and 1 kilogram of heroin.
Ava A. Cooper-Davis, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration Washington Field Division, Neil H. MacBride, United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia and Chief Bryan T. Norwood, of the Richmond, Virginia Police Department, made the announcement after sentencing by United States District Judge Henry E. Hudson. Blair pleaded guilty to the charge on June 13, 2012.
According to court documents, from June 2011, through March 31, 2012, Blair and others obtained multiple kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride and heroin from sources in Galveston, Texas, which were distributed in the Eastern District of Virginia and elsewhere. During the course of the investigation, law enforcement seized over 4 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, over 3.5 kilograms of heroin, over 4.5 pounds of marijuana, over $222,000 in drug proceeds, firearms, numerous vehicles and jewelry purchased with drug proceeds.
This case was investigated by the DEA offices in Richmond, Virginia and Galveston, Texas and the Richmond Police Department, with the expert assistance of the Virginia State Police Counter-Terrorism and Criminal Interdiction Unit. Assistant United States Attorney Olivia L. Norman prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.
