Mitchellville Crack Dealer Sentenced To 10 Years In Prison
GREENBELT, MD. - U.S. District Judge Roger W. Titus sentenced Jimmy Reed Davis, Jr., age 29, of Mitchellville, Maryland, today to 10 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.
The sentence was announced by Special Agent in Charge Ava Cooper-Davis of the Drug Enforcement Administration - Washington Field Division; United States Attorney for the District of Maryland Rod J. Rosenstein; and Chief Mark A. Magaw of the Prince George’s County Police Department.
According to Davis’ plea agreement, he sold crack cocaine to a law enforcement source on August 10, September 15, and October 14, 2010 in Prince George’s County. On November 12, 2010, Prince George’s County police officers stopped a vehicle being driven by Davis. Officers observed Davis making sudden movements by reaching behind the front passenger seat. After Davis exited the vehicle, officers conducted a pat down and recovered: a loaded 9-millimeter semi-automatic handgun from his waistband; approximately 108 grams of crack cocaine in a plastic bag in Davis’ right jacket pocket; and approximately $1,467 in cash from his front pants pockets.
That same day, Drug Enforcement (DEA) agents searched Davis’ residence on Lake Shore Drive in Mitchellville and recovered: a black semi-automatic .40 caliber compact handgun, two black magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition from a shelf in the master bedroom closet; drug paraphernalia, including a digital scale and 300 plastic baggies; and $4,000 in cash.
