Southern Illinois Man Gets Over 168 Months In Prison For Methamphetamine Conspiracy
ST. LOUIS - James P. Shroba, Special Agent-in-Charge of the DEA St. Louis Division, today announced that Ricky E. Shull, 51, of Marion, Illinois, was sentenced to 168 months in prison after being convicted on the charges of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and the distribution of methamphetamine.
“DEA is committed to keeping our neighborhoods and society safe,” Special Agent-in-Charge Shroba said. “Through tremendous coordination and cooperation between DEA and our other federal, state, and local partners, individuals who distribute poison in our communities are ultimately able to be brought to justice.”
During court hearings, evidence presented provided an in depth view of the drug trafficking activities of Shull and his criminal associates. That information identified Shull had been involved in selling methamphetamine to confidential sources working with law enforcement, and was ultimately found to be responsible for distributing a minimum of 436.5 grams of methamphetamine. Shull’s sentenced was enhanced during the sentencing phase due to Shull being classified as a career offender.
The DEA and the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group investigated this case, and also received assistance by the Williamson County, Illinois, States Attorney’s Office. This case was prosecuted by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois.
