ST. LOUIS - The Drug Enforcement Administration today announced that a St. Louis County woman, convicted of distribution of heroin, was sentenced to over 7 years in federal prison.

Shirl Driver, 55, of St. Louis County, Mo., received an 87 month sentence for two counts of distribution of heroin, which occurred in East St. Louis, IL. Driver pled guilty to those offenses on May 30, 2012.

Following release from imprisonment, Driver will serve a 3 year term of supervised release. Driver was also ordered to pay a $200 special assessment. Driver has been in custody since her arraignment on March 13, 2012.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration with the assistance of the St. Louis County Police Department as part of the Metro East Heroin Initiative. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Donald S. Boyce.
