SACRAMENTO, Calif. - U.S. District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. sentenced Jaymar Dwaune Jamerson, of Fairfield, today to 19 years and seven months in prison for possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine, possession with intent to distribute cocaine powder, and being a felon in possession of a firearm, Drug Enforcement Administration Acting Special Agent in Charge Bruce C. Balzano and United States Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced. Jamerson was found guilty in June 2012, after a court trial.

According to evidence presented at trial, Jamerson led police officers on a high-speed chase through Solano County on February 1, 2011, during which he dumped four baseball-size amounts of crack cocaine out of his car. During the car chase, Jamerson used his cell phone to call his criminal associates to stage a burglary of his apartment to remove drug evidence. Following the car chase, which endangered the lives of officers and citizens, police officers walked the pursuit path and recovered fragments of crack cocaine thrown from Jamerson’s car during flight.

About two months later, law enforcement searched Jamerson’s Fairfield apartment and a second apartment rented by his girlfriend and used by Jamerson as a drug stash pad. The officers found a loaded gun, a scale with methamphetamine residue, eight boxes of sandwich bags, and a Rubbermaid plastic container with methamphetamine residue all in a kitchen cabinet at Jamerson’s apartment. The officers found about three ounces of cocaine powder; $9,800 cash; a scale with cocaine, crack cocaine, and baking soda residue; and two Rubbermaid plastic containers with cocaine and crack cocaine base residue at Jamerson’s drug stash pad.

This case was the product of an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Fairfield Police Department and the Solano County Sheriff’s Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Samuel Wong and Kevin Khasigian prosecuted the case.
