Medford Drug Dealer Sentenced To More Than 12 Years In Federal Prison
MEDFORD, Ore - On Monday, January 12, 2015, Senior U.S. District Judge Owen M. Panner sentenced Steven Allen Longbrake, 28, of Medford, Oregon, to 12 1/2 years in federal prison for possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. Longbrake had previously pleaded guilty to that offense on September 15, 2014. After he completes his prison sentence, Longbrake will be on supervised release for five years.
On October 15, 2013, a Central Point Police Officer stopped a vehicle driven by Longbrake. After developing information that there may be drugs in Longbrake’s vehicle, police searched it and discovered approximately four ounces of methamphetamine on his person and in his car. Police also found digital scales and drug packaging in Longbrake’s backpack, and a trash bag full of marijuana plants in the back of the car.
Longbrake is a Federal Career Offender based upon his prior felony convictions for burglary in the first degree, manufacture of a controlled substance, and delivery of a controlled substance. His criminal history additionally includes previous convictions for assault in the fourth degree, strangulation, escape in the third degree, and possession of a controlled substance.
This case was investigated jointly by the Central Point Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
