Prescription Drug Take-Back Day To Offer Residents The Ability To Safely Dispose Of Unwanted And Expired Medications Saturday, October 26th

WHAT:          “7th STATEWIDE PRESCRIPTION DRUG TAKE-BACK EVENT” -

WHEN:          SATURDAY, October 26th.  Collection Sites will be open 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. -

WHERE:       STATEWIDE-over 90 drop-off locations.  Visit - www.dea.gov and click on the “Got Drugs?” icon for a local site near you.  -

WHO:            DEA, state, local, and tribal law enforcement partners and Arizona residents. -

DETAILS:     - The Drug Enforcement (DEA) and its state, local and tribal law enforcement partners will give the public another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. 

The service is free and anonymous.  No questions asked. 

Collection sites will be open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The public can find a nearby collection site by visiting, www.dea.gov - , clicking on the “Got Drugs?” - icon, and following the links to a database where they can enter their zip code or city/county.

The majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends including from the home medicine cabinet, according to surveys of users.
