Brooklyn Man Arrested In Albany County With Fentanyl
ALBANY, N.Y. - James J. Hunt, the Special Agent in Charge of the New York Division of the Drug Enforcement (DEA) and Albany County Sheriff Craig D. Apple, Sr. reports the arrest of a Brooklyn man on felony drug possession charges.
On Thursday November 2, 2017 Albany County Sheriff’s Investigators along with members of the DEA- Albany District Office and Watervliet Police Department arrested 25 year-old Lord Tyriek Smith of Brooklyn, NY for possession of a large quantity of fentanyl, heroin and crack cocaine.
Sheriff’s Investigators conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the Village of Menands at which time Smith was found to be in possession of 290 glassine envelopes containing the drug fentanyl. Subsequently, Sheriff’s Investigators executed a search warrant at an apartment located at 102 Madison Avenue in the City Albany and located a safe containing an additional 1,190 glassine envelopes of fentanyl, 30 grams of raw heroin and 32 grams of crack cocaine, along with drug packaging materials. The street value of the drugs seized was approximately $20,000.00.
Lord Tyriek Smith was charged with six counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third (a class B felony), and two counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second (a class A misdemeanor). Smith was arraigned in the City of Albany Criminal Court by the Honorable Judge Joshua Farrell and remanded to the Albany County Correctional Facility with no bail.
