Special Agent In Charge John P. Gilbride Addresses The First New York Rx Summit
ALBANY, NY. - On June 16, 2011 Special Agent in Charge John P. Gilbride and ASAC James Burns met with executives and managers in the fields of law enforcement, medical, public health, service and treatment providers, pharmaceutical, education and government, as well as community leaders in Albany, NY to address the increased detrimental effects of prescription drug abuse.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York, the DEA’s NYFD, Middle Atlantic Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network, NYS Division of Criminal Justice Services, New York State Police, NYS Bureau of Narcotics Enforcement in cooperation with the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse, National Association of Drug Diversion Investigators, and Purdue Pharma L.P. convened for this one day Summit to address this growing crisis in New York State. This one day summit identified current trends and examined solutions that could be implemented at all levels and expertise regarding this growing problem.
