Kenner Man Sentenced After Pleading Guilty To Cocaine Charges
NEW ORLEANS, LA - Steven Weathersby, 31, a resident of Kenner, Louisiana, was sentenced yesterday by U. S. District Judge Sarah S. Vance to over 21 (262 months) imprisonment after pleading guilty to cocaine distribution charges. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Judge Vance imposed eight years of supervisory release.
Weathersby pled guilty on February 7, 2012, to one count of distribution of 28 grams or more of cocaine (“crack”) and two counts of a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride. Weathersby’s sentence was subject to an enhancement based on a previous felony conviction.
On or about January 14, 2010 and June 9, 2010 in the Eastern District of Louisiana, Weathersby knowingly and intentionally distributed a quantity of cocaine hydrochloride. Also, on June 9, 2010, Weathersby knowingly and intentionally distributed 28 grams or more of crack cocaine.
The investigation was conducted by Special Agents of the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U. S. Attorney André Jones.
