NEW ORLEANS, LA. - EDWARD DAVIS - , age 30, a resident of Tangipahoa Parish, was sentenced today in federal court by U. S. District Judge Stanwood Duval to over 15 (185 months) imprisonment for conspiracy to distribute and distribution of crack cocaine, announced U.S. Attorney Jim Letten. In addition, DAVIS - was ordered to serve (8) years of supervised release following imprisonment, during which time he will be under federal supervision and risks additional imprisonment should he violate any terms of the release.

According to court records, on September 15, 2010, DAVIS - pled guilty a two-count indictment as well as a bill of information charging him as a prior drug offender. DAVIS - admitted he participated in a conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine and on November 6, 2009, he sold 20.1 net grams of crack cocaine to a confidential source working with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The matter was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Spiro Latsis.
