LaPlace Man Pleads Guilty To Possession Of Drugs And Guns
NEW ORLEANS, LA. - DESHON SIGNAL - , age 34, a resident of Laplace, Louisiana, pled guilty today in federal court before U. S. District Carl Barber to a six-count indictment charging him with distribution of crack cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine of cocaine, felon-in-possession of a firearm, and possession of firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, announced United States Attorney Jim Letten.
According to the factual basis, SIGNAL - was arrested on January 11, 2010 after agents made multiple under cover purchases of crack cocaine from him. Following his arrest, agents conducted a search of his apartment in Metairie, and recovered a .45 caliber revolver, a semiautomatic machine pistol, and 31 net grams of crack cocaine.
SIGNAL - faces a possible maximum sentence of life imprisonment, a $ 4 million fine, and (5) years of supervised release following any term of imprisonment. Sentencing has been scheduled for May 19, 2011.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Spire Latsis.
