TRENTON, N.J. - - Carl J. Kotowski, Special Agent in Charge for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New Jersey Division and Paul J. Fishman, U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey announced a Trenton man who was found in possession of 143 grams of heroin
and a loaded firearm pleaded guilty today to narcotics possession.

Dorian Brown, 36, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Freda L. Wolfson in Trenton federal court to an information charging him with possession with intent to distribute heroin.

On June 4, 2014, Brown, who had been the target of an investigation led by detectives from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Investigations Unit, and officers from the Trenton Police Department, in cooperation with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration
(DEA), was apprehended during the execution of search warrants on his car, as well as his Trenton home. Law enforcement seized approximately 130 grams of heroin from Brown’s home, where detectives also discovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun. An additional 13 grams of
heroin was seized from Brown’s car.

The narcotics charge to which Brown pleaded guilty carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine. Sentencing is scheduled for May 17, 2016.

U.S. Attorney Fishman credited special agents of the DEA, under the direction of Special Agent in Charge Carl J. Kotowski, and detectives of the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, Special Investigations Unit, under the direction of Acting Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri, with the investigation leading to today’s guilty plea. He also thanked officers of the Trenton Police Department under the direction of Police Director Ernest Parrey for their assistance.
