DEA Miami Agents Awarded The Attorney General's Most Prestigious Award
MIAMI - This week, Drug Enforcement (DEA), Miami Field (MFD) Group 10 members received the 61st Attorney General's Exceptional Service Award during a ceremony in Weston, Florida. This award is the highest award presented by the Attorney General and the Department of Justice. DEA agents and task force (TFOs) were recognized for their exceptional achievements, leadership, and heroism reflected in Operation Golden Eagle II.
During the ceremony, DEA MFD Special Agent in (SAC) Mark R. Trouville presented the awards to the recipients, and commended the local law enforcement partners for their contributions and support of the DEA mission.
This multi-jurisdictional operation lead by DEA MFD Group 10 has resulted in the indictment of five designated Consolidated Priority Organization (CPOT), the arrests of 88 other individuals, and the seizure of over $309 million in assets, over 6,480 kilograms of cocaine, 1.4 kilograms of heroin, and 154.4 pounds of marijuana.
The MFD Group 10 is comprised of DEA agents and TFOs from North Miami Beach Police Department, Broward County Sheriff's Office, North Bay Village Police Department, and Coconut Creek Police Department.
The results of Operation Golden Eagle II are based on the investigative efforts from an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task (OCDETF) joint investigation, led by the DEA. The principal mission of the OCDETF and CPOT program is to identify, disrupt, and dismantle the most serious drug trafficking and money laundering organizations that significantly impact the nation's illegal drug supply.
