ORLANDO, Fla. - Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in (SAC), Drug Enforcement (DEA), Miami Field Division, and A. Lee Bentley, III, Acting United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, announced today that U.S. District Judge Charlene Edwards Honeywell sentenced Maurice (44, Orlando) to 11 years and 8 months in federal prison and James Marvin (43, Cocoa) to 12 years and 7 months in federal prison for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute more than 5 kilograms of cocaine. Evans and Lovett pleaded guilty on June 24, 2013.

According to court documents, on January 29, 2013, law enforcement agents began monitoring communications between Evans and Lovett. During the intercepting period, agents learned that their cocaine supplier was operating within central Florida. On February 13, 2013, Lovett was arrested after making several trips to his supplier's location to obtain cocaine. Agents discovered three kilograms of cocaine in Lovett's vehicle incident to his arrest. Shortly afterwards, agents intercepted a call from Evans to their cocaine supplier, advising the supplier of Lovett's arrest and that they needed to drop their telephones. Agents later executed a search warrant at Lovett's residence and found a cocaine re-processing operation, including a hydraulic press, press plates, aluminum molds, packaging material, scales, cutting agents, mixing utensils, a microwave, and cocaine.

This case was investigated by the DEA and Brevard County Sheriff's Office. SAC Trouville commends the prosecution efforts of the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida.
