Miami Cocaine Distributor Sentenced To 10 Years In Federal Prison
ORLANDO, Fla. - Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement (DEA), Miami Field Division, and Robert E. O’Neill, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, announced today that U.S. District Judge Roy B. Dalton, Jr. sentenced Michael Metayer, a/k/a “Big Mike” (40, Miami) to 10 years in federal prison for conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of cocaine hydrochloride. A federal jury found Metayer guilty of the offense on July 26, 2012.
According to court documents, on March 27, 2012, Metayer met with an Orlando-area drug distributor at a residence in Miami Gardens. During the meeting, Metayer provided four kilograms of cocaine to the individual, with the understanding that once the cocaine had been distributed in Orlando, Metayer would be paid the full purchase price of more than $120,000. However, federal agents intercepted the distributor as he drove back to Orlando. Agents located approximately four kilograms of cocaine in his car. During a subsequent consensual search of Metayer’s residence in Miami Gardens, agents recovered approximately $56,000 in cash belonging to Metayer. In Metayer's pants pocket, agents found the cellular phone that he had been using to communicate with the Orlando cocaine distributor.
