Convicted Drug Trafficker Found Guilty
TAMPA, Fla. - Mark R. Trouville, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement (DEA), Miami Field Division, and Robert E. O’Neill, United States Attorney for the Middle District of Florida, announced today that a federal jury found Calvin Joseph (41, Bradenton) guilty of attempting to possess with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine. Moore faces a maximum penalty of life in federal prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for December 14, 2012. Moore was indicted on May 31, 2012.
According to evidence presented at trial, on April 24, 2012, Moore met with a confidential informant in Bradenton, for the purpose of buying a half-kilogram of cocaine. During the transaction, Moore got into the informant’s vehicle and handed him approximately $15,000, as intended payment for the cocaine. Moore was previously convicted in federal court, in 1999, for distributing crack cocaine.
This case was investigated by the DEA Tampa DO, Manatee County Sheriff's Office, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
