( - HONOLULU) - Defendants Roger Cusick Christie, 64, and Sherryanne L. Christie, 62, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Leslie E. Kobayashi on federal charges related to their role in the manufacture and distribution of marijuana in the Honolulu area.  Roger Christie was sentenced to 60 months in prison and four years of supervised release.  Sherryanne Christie was sentenced to 27 months in prison and three years of supervised release.

Last September, Roger Christie pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, and possess with intent to distribute 100 or more marijuana plants.  Roger Christie also pleaded guilty to two separate tax counts related to the failure to file federal income tax returns in 2008 and 2009.  Sherryanne Christie previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, and possess with intent to distribute 50 or more marijuana plants.

The prosecution resulted from the combined efforts of the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service - Criminal Investigations Division, Homeland Security Investigations, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, U.S. Marshals Service, National Park Service, the Hawaii Police Department; and the Honolulu Police Department.
