Coldspring, Texas Man Sentenced For Federal Drug Violations
BEAUMONT, TX - A 65-year-old Coldspring, Texas man has been sentenced to federal prison for drug trafficking crimes in the Eastern District of Texas, announced Drug Enforcement (DEA) Acting Special Agent in Charge, Thomas E. Hinojosa and U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.
Robert Allen Martin pleaded guilty on Mar. 21, 2011 to possession with intent to distribute marijuana and was sentenced to 60 months in federal prison today by U.S. District Judge Ron Clark.
According to information presented in court, on Aug. 27, 2009, Martin was arrested following a traffic stop on Hwy. 59 in Coldspring, Texas. A search of Martin's vehicle during the stop revealed illegal drugs. Martin was indicted by a federal grand jury on Nov. 3, 2010, and charged with federal drug trafficking crimes.
During his sentencing hearing, Martin was also ordered to forfeit ownership of two residences and property on FM 224 in Coldspring, Texas, and on Kickapoo Road in Groveton, Texas; a 2000 Bayliner boat, motor and trailer; a 2008 trailer; a 15,000-watt generator; and $2,329 in cash.
This case was investigated by DEA, Willis Police Department, Conroe Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Randall L. Fluke.
