LOUISVILLE, Ky. - United States Attorney John E. Kuhn, Jr. announced today that a Jefferson County, Kentucky, dentist was charged by federal Information for the illegal distribution of controlled substances.   

According to the one-count federal Information, Rodney B. Fultz, 63, aided and abetted by a person known to the Grand Jury, caused Schedule III controlled substances to be dispensed and distributed, outside the course of professional medical practice.  Fultz allowed another individual to use his Drug Enforcement (DEA) registration number to issue prescriptions for hydrocodone.

The alleged violations by Fultz occurred between January 20, 2012, and November 5, 2012, in Jefferson County.

If convicted at trial, Fultz would face no more than 10 years in prison, a fine of $500,000 and up to a three year period of supervised release.
           
This case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David Weiser and is being investigated by the United States Drug Enforcement (DEA).

The indictment of a person by a Federal Information is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
