Three People From Centralia, Illinois Indicted On Heroin And Crack Cocaine Charges

BENTON, IL. - Stephen R. Wigginton, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced that two men and one woman from Centralia, Illinois, were indicted on heroin and crack cocaine charges on March 8, 2011.

Toriano A. Bohanna, Sr., age 38, Angela N. Hill, age 28, and Toriano A. Bohanna, Jr., age 21, were charged in an six count Indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Benton, Illinois.

Count 1 charged Toriano A. Bohanna, Sr. and Angela N. Hill with conspiracy to distribute heroin between November 2010, and February 7, 2011. The Indictment alleged that the amount of heroin involved in the conspiracy was more than one (100) grams.

Count 2 charged Toriano A. Bohanna, Sr., and Toriano A. Bohanna, Jr., with conspiracy to distribute crack cocaine between November 2010, and February 7, 2011. The Indictment alleged that the amount of crack cocaine involved in the conspiracy was more than twenty-(28) grams.

Toriano A. Bohanna, Sr., was also charged with three counts of distribution of heroin in Counts 3, 4, and 5. Those distributions of heroin occurred on January 21, January 24, and February 7, 2011.

Toriano A. Bohanna, Jr., was also charged with one count of possession of crack cocaine with the intent to distribute on February 7, 2011, in Count 6. The Indictment alleged that the amount of crack cocaine Bohanna, Jr., possessed with intent to distribute was more than twenty-(28) grams.

The investigation was conducted by the Centralia Police Department, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Department, the Joint Narcotics Unit of the Mt. Vernon Police Department and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Illinois State Police, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the Marion County State’s Attorney’s Office, the United States Secret Service, the United States Marshal Service, and other law enforcement agencies pursuant to their participation in the Project Safe Neighborhoods Initiative. Project Safe Neighborhoods is a joint and cooperative effort of the United States Attorney’s Office, and federal, state and local law enforcement agencies directed at removing guns and drugs from our communities.
