MAY 05 - PORTLAND, Maine - Michael J. Ferguson Special Agent-in-Charge of the DEA’s New England Division, and Acting United States Attorney Richard W. Murphy announced that ario Lee, a/k/a “Moe”, 42, of Bangor, and formerly of the Bronx, New York, was sentenced in U.S. District Court by Chief Judge Nancy Torresen to 218 months in prison and eight years of supervised release for conspiring to possess with the intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin. Lee pled guilty on October 31, 2016.

According to court records, between August 2013 and September 2015, Lee conspired with others to distribute heroin in the Bangor area and elsewhere.  Lee supplied heroin to dealers in the Bangor area and surrounding communities. Co-conspirators introduced customers to Lee, drove him to heroin transactions and allowed him to use their residences to distribute heroin. Lee paid them with heroin. Lee faced enhanced penalties as a result of a prior drug trafficking conviction in New York.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
