OCT 31 - BANGOR, Maine - Michael J. Ferguson Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and United States Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty II announced that Sara Monroe, 30, of Holden, Maine, was sentenced today in U.S. District Court by Chief Judge Nancy Torresen to 32 months in prison and three years of supervised release for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and distribute heroin.  Monroe pleaded guilty on May 17, 2016.

According to court records, between February and September 2015, Monroe conspired with Mario Lee, a/k/a “Moe” and others to distribute heroin in the Bangor area and elsewhere.  Monroe drove Lee to heroin customers and also obtained heroin from him for distribution. 

The case was investigated by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
