CONCORD, N.H. - - Michael J. Ferguson Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and United States Attorney, Emily Gray Rice announced that Geoffrey McIntosh, 36, was sentenced by United States District Judge Paul Barbadoro to serve 100 months in federal prison for his participation in an oxycodone distribution scheme.  McIntosh, most recently of Derry, New Hampshire, pleaded guilty on March 25, 2016, to participating in a conspiracy to distribute, and possess with intent to distribute, oxycodone.

According to documents that were filed in United States District Court and statements in court proceedings, McIntosh and others passed dozens of false prescriptions for OxyContin pills at pharmacies in the Manchester and Nashua areas.  McIntosh arranged for runners to pass these fraudulent prescriptions at pharmacies.  The runners would then provide the pills to McIntosh in exchange for pills or cash.  McIntosh would then sell the pills or have others sell them on his behalf.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers identified over 100 fraudulent prescriptions for OxyContin, which were filled in 2009 and 2010.

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, with assistance from other law enforcement agencies, including the Nashua Police Department, Manchester Police Department, Merrimack Police Department, and the New Hampshire State Police.
