CONCORD, NH. - Steven W. Derr, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration for New England and United States Attorney John P. Kacavas announced that Jennifer Bohan, 24 and Dale Daigle, 26, both of Newington, New Hampshire, Kevin Ball, 28, of Portsmouth, Cesar Chanlatte, 40, of Plymouth, Massachusetts, and Gary Woodward, 28, of Halifax, Massachusetts have pled guilty in U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire to conspiracy to unlawfully possess with the intent to distribute and the unlawful distribution of marijuana.

The investigation began in June 2009, when the United States Postal Inspection Service became aware of suspicious “Express Mail” packages being sent from a fictitious address in California to Jennifer Bohan at her place of employment in New Hampshire. A review of the shipping labels from the beginning of the investigation through the defendants’ arrests in February 2010, revealed that approximately thirty-two such packages were shipped.

The investigation determined that co-conspirator Christopher Chanlatte of California, sent the packages containing marijuana from California to New Hampshire. The marijuana was stored at Bohan’s place of employment or at Ball’s residence and was distributed in the Portsmouth area. As part of the conspiracy, Cesar Chanlatte and Gary Woodward traveled from Massachusetts to Ball’s residence to purchase quantities of the marijuana and transported it back to Massachusetts.

The defendants were arrested in February 2010, after a search of a similar package mailed from the same address in California to Bohan resulted in the discovery of approximately twenty five pounds of marijuana.

The defendants are scheduled to be sentenced in September 2011 and all face possible maximum sentences of 20 years imprisonment and fines of $1,000,000. The investigation was conducted by the DEA, the United States Postal Inspection Service, and the State of New Hampshire Attorney General’s Drug Task Force and is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Cole Davis.
