Wilson Drug Traffickers Sentenced To Federal Prison

ATLANTA, GA. - United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker announced that three Wilson drug traffickers have been sentenced in federal court. On June 2, 2011, Dorrian Dwayne Wingate, 33, received 131months imprisonment, while, his brother, Ronald Lee Wingate,35, received 76 months imprisonment. On September 26, 2011, Josand Farmer, 39, received 360 months imprisonment.

On August 4, 2010, a Federal Grand Jury returned a Criminal Indictment. On January 14, 2011, each of the Wingatebrothers pled guilty to conspiring to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, 1 kilogram or more of (PCP), and a quantity of 3,4 (MDMA). On March 24, 2011, following a four-day trial, Farmerwas found guilty of conspiring to distribute and possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base, 1 kilogram or more of (PCP), and a quantity of 3,4 (MDMA); aiding and abetting the distribution of five grams or more of cocaine (crack); and aiding and abetting the distribution of a quantity of cocaine (crack).

According to the investigation of the Wingates, which began in 2009, and of Farmer, which began in 2010, numerous controlled purchases were arranged by law enforcement. Based on information obtained through further investigation, it is estimated that Dorrian Wingate was responsible for distributing 3,061 grams of PCP, 466.4 grams of crack cocaine, and 1,500 Ecstasy pills and 375 grams of MDMA; Ronald Wingateis responsible for the distribution of 729.2 grams of crack cocaine and Farmeris responsible for distribution 1,145.77 grams of crack cocaine and 56.7 grams of PCP.

The investigation of this case was conducted by the Wilson Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer E. Wells served as prosecutor for the government.
